Squamous cell carcinoma of the skin is a prevalent type of skin cancer that develops within the squamous cells in the middle and outer layers of the skin.

While it is rare for squamous cell carcinoma of the skin to turn life threatening, it can become very aggressive. If left untreated, squamous cell carcinoma of the skin can grow to a substantial size and spread to other parts of your body, increasing the risk of serious complications.

Precise, personalised treatment

At Avion Medical Skin Centres, we offer a non-invasive squamous cell carcinoma treatment option, that prioritises cosmetic outcomes and 97.5% (reference 2) full tumour regression. We are the only clinic in Victoria licensed to provide the non-surgical, single-session Rhenium-SCT®  (Skin Cancer Therapy) treatment.

This treatment harnesses the power of the Beta emitter radioisotope Rhenium-188, and is executed through a precise three-step process administered by our highly-trained physicians. The targeted area is first marked, then covered with a film and treated with the Rhenium-SCT® paste. The film is then removed after a calculated period of time.

Step one

The physician marks the area to be treated.

Step two

The area is covered with a clear film before applying the Rhenium-SCT® paste.

Step three

After a calculated period of time (between 30-180mins), the film is removed and the waste is disposed of.
